State inspectors are at a popular Ohio amusement park to figure out how a boat on a thrill ride accidentally rolled backward down a hill and flipped over in water, injuring seven people.

Cedar Point spokesman Bryan Edwards says the inspectors and officials at the Sandusky park are investigating what went wrong with the Shoot the Rapids water ride Friday.

Shark attacks Texas teen in waist-deep water, A shark attacked a teenager Monday afternoon as he swam in waist-deep water at Surfside Beach, along Texas's Gulf coast, local police said.

The 15-year-old started beating the shark with both hands after it had bitten his lower left leg, according to Surfside Assistant Police Chief Gregg Bisso. The shark then bit the teen on the left hand. Kids from his church group, who were in the water with him, came to his aid after he'd been bitten, Bisso said. A Surfside police officer was at scene at the time and helped bandage the teen.

Bodies found on Iditarod route, The bodies of two adults and a 10-year-old girl were found in the wreckage of a small airplane that crashed Monday near the route of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race.

Pilot Ted Smith, 59, Carolyn Sorvoja, 48, and Rosemarie Sorvoja, 10, died in the crash near Rainy Pass.

All were from Eagle River, a community on Anchorage's north side.

They had left Anchorage on Monday morning bound for Takotna, a village of 53 people about 17 miles west of McGrath and 235 miles northwest of Anchorage. The community is more than a quarter of the way into the 1,000-mile Iditarod.

Women hid boy for 8 years, An East Texas jury on Tuesday convicted two women of kidnapping a Houston boy when he was 8 months old and hiding him for eight years before he was found.

Jurors deliberated for about two hours before finding Krystle Tanner and her mother, Gloria Walker, guilty of kidnapping in the 2004 disappearance of Miguel Morin, who is now 8. Walker also was found guilty of injury to a child, while the jury found Tanner guilty of a lesser charge of reckless injury to a child.

After the verdict, the same jury heard evidence for about 30 to 40 minutes in the trial's punishment phase before deciding their sentences. Walker faces up to life in prison, and Tanner could be sentenced up to 20 years.

YouTube Blocked in Egypt, A Cairo court on Saturday ordered the government to block access to the video-sharing website YouTube for 30 days for carrying an anti-Islam film that caused deadly riots across the world.

Judge Hassouna Tawfiq ordered YouTube blocked for carrying the film, which he described as "offensive to Islam and the Prophet (Muhammad)." He made the ruling in the Egyptian capital where the first protests against the film erupted last September before spreading to more than 20 countries, killing more than 50 people.
